At the pump
Fuel is sold as petrol, diesel and kerosene at attended (not self-serve) stations, mostly on Tongatapu; as of June 2026 petrol is about T$4.15/litre and diesel about T$5.05/litre. Carry cash, as card acceptance at pumps is unreliable.
After a crash
Call the police emergency number 922 (or 911) and report any accident; do not move vehicles involved in an injury or serious-damage crash until police attend. Obtain a police report for your rental insurance claim.
