On the road in Comoros
At the pump
Petrol (essence) and diesel (gasoil) are sold mainly in Moroni and larger towns and become scarce in rural areas, so fill up before island circuits. Stations are largely cash-only in Comorian francs; card acceptance is rare.
After a crash
Stop at the scene, do not move vehicles if there are injuries, and wait for police; contact the gendarmerie/police (emergency 17) to file a report needed for insurance. Exchange details with the other driver where possible.
