On the road in Rwanda
At the pump
Petrol and diesel are widely available in Kigali and along main highways but thinner in rural areas, so fill up before leaving town; petrol was around RWF 2,300 per litre in mid-2026 and many stations accept cards.
After a crash
Do not leave the scene; call police (dial 112) and wait for officers, exchange details with other parties and witnesses, and notify your rental company, as a police report is required for claims.
